Mourning
Beloveth 'The Sullen Sulcus'
I've been waiting for this album with huge anxiety. Having known both demo tapes and the debut album entitled 'Dust', I could expect only one thing - a very good second cd. I can say that I'm not disappointed. MOURNING BELOVETH recently signed with Norwegian Aftermath Music, and the outcome of this deal is entitled 'The Sullen Sulcus'. Together with WHILE HEAVEN WEPT's 'Of Empires Forlorn' this is the best doom metal album of 2003 up to now (it's April). 'The Sullen Sulcus' was also one of the most anticipated albums. On this cd there are 6 tracks with the running time of about an hour. On the reedition of 'Dust', thanks to placing the track 'It Almost Looked Human' from the new album we could taste the part of new material. It was quite obvious that MOURNING BELOVETH will follow their path of creating a deeper, heavier, more differentiated and mystical music. And so it is. 'The Sullen Sulcus' is huge, it's the masterwork of doom metal. Together with great graphics and a sound originating from the famous Academy Studios with Mags as the producer, we can now enjoy this wonderful cd.
