Mourning Beloveth gathered in 92 & released their first 2 songs Demo in 96, then 'Autumnal Fires' Demo 98.They went on and released their first Doom/Death masterpiece 'Dust', in March 2001. They already played live and got some recognition in their areas, Ireland & England, gained as well new listeners on their path. They took over one year to complete the compositions of their second and present full-length album 'The Sullen Sulcus'.6 progressive and long tracks in the vein of earlier Death/Doom metal acts of the 90's era, a very thick and compact release, over 65 minutes of depressive yet crushing atmospheres. The persisting low and slow tones, the heavy guitar riffs dominate this implacable release, that requires a solid endurance if you're not used to listen to old school doom.If you like though tormented atmospheres and suffocating tempos, deep feelings that own your breath and almost your heart beats, then you'll enjoy it. With a neat production and even some melodies reminding Doom Metal bands of the previous decade, with varied vocals. Yes the vocals alternate low and death tones, that almost cling you to the ground, and some male chants even clear passages that add a bit movement to the dying melodies.Solid even heavy, this rather 'safe' release is recommended, support Mourning Beloveth.Released by the Norwegian Label Aftermath, that already presented excellent releases inside the same musical style, or creative albums like the Swedish Death/Doom act Runemagick, you'll get all the infos and complements directly on Aftermath website.
