Mourning Beloveth - "Dust" Slowly rising to prominence within the Irish metal scene (to join the ranks of Primordial), these doom metal stalwarts re-issue their acclaimed self-financed debut CD re-mastered (by ex-Cradle guitarist/songwriter Stuart Anstis) with bonus tracks for more widespread exposure. And rightfully so as Mourning Beloveth seem set on a path to help herald the new age of doom metal. Very traditional in nature, the emotion that pours from the heavy soothing monstrous riffs and the passionately executed vocals showcase how Mourning Beloveth take the very fine elements from classic doom (i.e. My Dying Bride/early Anathema), without conceived force, and naturally bleed them to create a standout release. Definitely something that’s much beyond your typical offering, Mourning Beloveth pretty much set the stage at face value, giving us something that will certainly appeal with ease and will serve as a harbinger for the promising future ahead. Worth getting for the song ‘Autumnal Fires’ alone. Chris Bruni8/10 Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles |
