Mourning Beloveth - "Dust"

This mighty recording from Ireland's finest weighs in at a Doom-tastic 61 minutes long, for just 5 tracks. The high sound quality is truly impressive for a self financed project, and this certainly sounds like it should have had major recording power behind it from a large label. This record should hopefully ensure that before long Morning Beloveth get the record deal that they so richly deserve. This CD was recorded a the well-known Academy Studios where the Peaceville producer Mags takes care of things. The influences of old Peaceville classics such as My Dying Bride and Anathema are evident here, with the melancholy and power highly reminiscent of the metal scene from 10 years ago. This is no bad thing, as the song structure is very strong, with deft switches between atmospheric slowness, and fast, technical riffing. Finally, the clean vocals set them apart from many of their peers, and it comes as a refreshing change after the current glut of stoner / doom crossover bands.
