The last few weeks have been again busy in the Mourning Beloveth camp (relatively) in that we played Fred Zeppelins in Cork on May 4 with two local bands. We were first up and played for 45 minutes with
The Mountains are Mine
Forever Lost Emeralds
In Mourning my Days
All Hope is Pleading
The Fruit and the Sorrow

The set was received well and we sold some Cds to the unsuspecting Corkonians. The party after was interesting………

This lead us to our first ever gig on foreign shores in Bradford on May 25 with our friends in Bloodstream. Arriving in Bradford at The Empress at 11am was looking like a bad idea as we got bored and started drinking however age or some sense has crept into the band of late as we stopped after 3 pints (don't shout it too loud) but we then went awalking and fell asleep in some park for a while , pure rock and roll. With senses afresh and night falling things began to take shape at the venue. I fell in love with the Empress with its walls decked with picture lps of Iron Maiden , Black Sabbath et al and a free juke box with a lot of new and old releases. Bloodstream kicked off the night with there set of melodic death/trash and a female growling vocalist who knows what she is doing. Arriving on stage with a nurses uniform and latex gloves made at least all the males in the audience sit up. The sound was perfect with a wall of Marshall stacks behind we were itching to get up there. The set list was

The Mountains are Mine
Burden
Autumnal Fires
In Mourning my Days
All Hope is Pleading
The Fruit and the Sorrow.

The last track was actually an encore following some loud calls for more. We played probably the tightest set we have ever played in our spiritual home (how poetic). Lets just hope this opens the door for the Irish underground in England and vice versa. All it takes is a little communication and a love for metal!

We are now going on a short siesta from the gigging front to concentrate on new songs for our upcoming recording in October. Four songs have already been written with two song titles "My Sullen Sulcus" and "A Cracked Sun". It looks like it is going to be an mcd with these 4 songs on it so for the next three months we will be honing the sound along the lines of heaviness and melody. This time we will be recording in Ireland but hopefully we will be sticking with the mighty Mags for recording and producing. Keep your ear to the ground.
