From Unholy Kingdom On beginning you would be able to represent short history of Your band? Mourning Beloveth began from the ashes of a death metal band some ten years ago. We recorded our first demo in 1996 with Adrian as engineer and he later joined on bass where we quickly recorded our well-received second demo Autumnal Fires. We played some gigs in Ireland and recorded our debut album Dust in Academy Studios in 2000. This was a self-financed album and we released it ourselves in 2001. We played some gigs with Cathedral and later with Cradle of Filth and in 2002 we recorded our second album. The Sullen Sulcus, again in Academy. In the meantime we re-released Dust on Sentinel Records and when our latest album the Sullen Sulcus was recorded we released it with a Norwegian label Aftermath Music. In February 2003 we embarked on the Doomination of Europe with Morgion and the Prophecy, 2 weeks across Europe. August 2003 we brought the Doomination tour to America for 4 weeks. We have had the same line up since our second demo (Darren-vocals, frank-guitar + vocals, Adrian-bass, Brian-guitar, Tim-drums) and we have just released a new song on a split 7" with fellow countrymen Lunar gate, it has been released on Sentinel Records. 2004 sees us on tour with While Heaven Wept and playing the Doom Shall Rise festival in Germany as well as writing and recording our third album. That is the shortest and least boring way I can give it to you. We know, that some time ago ended rout "Doomination of Europe". Which one you have after her impressions? Which one accepted You the public? And which one reigned atmosphere between concurrent To you with bands? Yeah in February we embarked on a self financed European tour with Morgion (USA) and The prophecy (UK). We played Ireland, England, France ,Spain, Portugal, Holland, Belgium and Portugal over two weeks. We traveled around in a minibus and an equipment van and relied on the hospitality of people to put us up after some gigs. The whole thing was an amazing experience and it was our first time touring. We played some great shows in France, Portugal and Belgium. The crowds ranged from 40 to 400 people. We played a small wine cellar in France to 80 people and the place was full of people and it was an electrifying night, we then played to 400 people in Portugal in the grounds of a 16th Century building but the whole tour, traveling each day, sometimes through the night to the next venue and to play in front of a different crowd each night was an amazing experience. All three bands got on so well that we continued the Doomination tour in the USA in August for 4 weeks which was again an eye opening experience and a great way to spend the year, touring and releasing an album what more could you ask for. You would be able to throw something this to rout? and which one was her minuses? Answered this above but I will continue with the American tour here. We traveled from LA to NY to Texas up to Portland, in fact we covered most of the country. America is huge and at one stage we drove 27 hours straight to texas to play Emo's, so many bad things happened on the American tour like the equipment van breaking down, orodruin guitarist left after 3 gigs, 2 venues had closed down in the first week we were touring, one due to health reasons and the other cause some dance dj wrecked the PA system but ti did not matter to us we were traveling America with our band doing what we love, we had such a good time meeting people and even on the long journeys we generally kept ourselves amused on the long drives at night with stories of shit and lies. It was everybody's in MB first time to see America and it was a great experience. We played the Doom to grind festival in Denver which was basically a converted car shop with engines as the backdrop but the crowd and enthusiasm of the whole event was amazing and we met so many friendly people who were willing to share there beer, grass and homes with some poor metal bands travellign around. We also got to play the Stoner Hands of Doom fest in Portland and I fell in love with Portland as it is such a beautiful city, maybe also something to do with the brownies I was being fed throughout the course of the evening. But last year was our first time touring and w egot to see a lot of the world and I think we loved it so much there will be another assault in 2005. In first phase of fixing of time -limits of concerts" Doomination of Europe" was found Poland. Why you did not play at last in our country? When the idea was first conceived we considered every country we could but as things advanced and with time constraints we were limited to the countries I have already mentioned. We did try Poland but could not find any promoters willing to put on a doom show and the logistics of the event meant we only concentrated on certain parts of Europe this time round. You had to give DVD from" DoE". it is known something more on this theme? distribution this DVD will punish oneself in Poland? Yeah the dvd is meant to be out now but due to some technical difficulties like some of the tapes being destroyed in the post things have been delayed but it is now full steam ahead again. Originally it was only to be footage of the DOE tour but we have now decided to add some more footage from our upcoming show at Doom Shall Rise 2 in Germany in April and we are also going to add a photo gallery and old fliers and some never seen before pictures so I think a summer release is imminent but there will also be something special added so you will just have to keep an eye to our website to find out what it is. As for distribution I am not sure yet but I think it will be the usual Aftermath media partners which at the moment does not include Poland but it will be available form us or Aftermath so it should not be to hard to find. If you could out us in touch with some reputable distributors I would be interested to hear. On your page in internet can read, that you work over third album. What We can to expect after new album? will be this style represented on" The Sullen Sulcus"? whether rather you intend something to change in one's own music? Well we are planning to record the, as yet untitled, third album during the summer this year. At the moment we have 2 songs complete, 2 almost complete and 2 in working. It is hard to describe them at the moment as they are only in their formative stages but one of the complete songs to my ears is the best we have written yet, it is a 17 minute epic journey with many twists and turns. I think the best way to describe the new stuff would be to purchase our picture 7" just out on Sentinel Records and it features a new song where we did experiment a bit but still had all the MB trademarks. We recorded the song in a studio in Ireland over two days and lets just say it was a very cosmic experience, we were free from the shackles of recording an album and we decided to try some new things and I think it worked very well. In Poland heavily to buy Your albums. You know something on this theme? One can to expect changes in Polish distribution? Yeah we would love to be distributed in Poland as I know from my years in the underground it has a very dedicated metal scene but unfortunately our label has not found a good distributor for us in Poland so we can go no further, hopefull ythis will change with the next album so when we go and play there at least some people will have our albums and know the band. When you have intention to play in Poland. will be possibility after edition of following album at last to see You in our country? It is our great wish and desire to play Poland, we all grew up on those amazing stories of MDB and Anathema playing there many years ago and it is a dream for us to play there. I think when our new album does come out and we decide to tour in 2005 it will be for 3-4 weeks this time and we will want to play in many countries that we did not the last time and Poland would definitely be one of those countries. All we need are some good contacts with promoters and half the work is done, can you help us? Just and time on last question. you heard already something on theme Polish the publics and whether you want to them something to deliver? I am sorry but I really do not understand the question but if you ask of my knowledge of Poland. I know of a very large death metal underground and of the a dedicated metal underground as my contacts over the years have been testament to as for Poland itself I recently saw a documentary about Poland joining the EU and the fact that the average national wage is 7000euro, about ¼ of that in Ireland but living there is very cheap. I think in years to come our children and there children will have greater knowledge of more countries a s they will be free to travel anywhere, you ca even see now with such cheap airfares even MB have seen most of Europe in the last few years if it hasn't been playing gigs we attend gigs in other countries too. I think our bass player is going on holiday in Poland this year for two weeks, maybe you will see him he will be the ugly Irish one haha. Thanks for giving answers. Love from fans from Poland and of all drafting Unholy Kingdom... Thanks, check out these sites: www.metalworksmagazine.com for all your Irish metal needs. |
